Price

The 1500 is cheaper, with base trims starting at $48,000. The 2500 starts at $50,000 and goes up from there. Both models can surpass $70,000 when equipped with additional features, such as four-wheel drive, the extended cab option, and a more powerful engine.

Power and Performance

The 1500 starts with a Turbomax engine. It can tow up to 9,500 lbs. and gets up to 310 horsepower and 430 pounds-feet of torque. If you upgrade to the 6.2-liter V-8 engine, you will get 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The engine will power the truck to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The engine can also tow up to 13,300 pounds. You can also upgrade to the 3.0L Duramax Turbocharged diesel engine for even more power.

The 2500 starts with the 6.6L gas V-8 engine, but you can upgrade to the turbocharged diesel version for an extra boost. The gasoline version can tow up to 17,400 pounds, while the diesel can tow up to 36,000 pounds.

Both trucks have the latest safety features, including an HD rear vision camera, lane departure warnings, electronic stability control, and tire pressure monitoring to help you get around with more peace of mind. You can add other features, including front and rear park assist and rear pedestrian alert.

Efficiency

The 1500 has a 24-gallon fuel tank and gets approximately 18 mpg in the city and up to 21 mpg on the highway. The 2500 has a larger 36-gallon tank with similar fuel efficiency ratings.
