When the temperature rises and the days get longer, the last thing you want to do with your family is stay cooped up inside watching television! To make your summer memorable and give your kids things to talk about when they go back to school, you should make use of the great summer activities in Davison, MI! But with so many options, it can be hard to choose what to do. To help, here is a list of our favorites!

3 Fun Summer Activities in Driving Distance of Davison, MI

1. Enjoy the Water at Lake Callis Recreation Complex

When you’re feeling the heat of the long summer days, you might be looking for any way possible to get some relief. Sure, you could stay inside and let the air conditioning cool you off, but a more fun activity is to go swimming! And our favorite place to swim in Davison is Lake Callis Recreation Complex. The complex has a lake, hence its name, and a sandy beach where you can relax and swim!

If you have smaller children or just don’t want to swim, then you can still get wet at the splash pad which has fountains that are fun for both children and adults to play in! It’s fun for the whole family!

2. Stroll in Nature at For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum

Formerly a dairy farm, For-Mar Nature Preserve has been a place for visitors to get close to nature for 51 years! There are 383 acres to explore, comprised of meadows, ponds, and forests that are all home to diverse wildlife, making it a great place for kids to learn about their favorite animals! There are hiking trails that can also be used for jogging, and they have events going on periodically throughout the year.

For example, there are full moon hikes, tai chi classes, nature story times, phenology walks, and harvesting classes! Check their website for more information.

3. Bike Around Demille Bowl

There are few pleasures in life that compare with the simplicity of exploring your town by bike! And located just to the east of Davison are the Demille Bowl bike paths. These paths expand over nine miles and are both paved and made of dirt. Because of this, we recommend using a mountain bike. There are even some basic jumps you can go on if you’re feeling daring!

When you’re bringing the kids and their friends to the lake to go swimming, or to the park to kick a soccer ball around, you’re going to want a roomy vehicle! The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox RS is a great choice, with its superior amount of rear leg room. Come test drive one today at Hank Graff Chevrolet!
