Learn More about Your Timing Belt

In order for your engine to complete the internal combustion process, many things have to happen. In addition to that, they need to happen all at just the right time. If the sequence gets out of rhythm, the combustion process can be interrupted. The timing of all of this is managed by your car, truck, or SUV's timing belt.

Your timing belt (or chain, in some cases) is what keeps the rotation of your camshaft and crankshaft in sync. By doing this, it allows your valves to open and close at just the right time on both the intake stroke and the exhaust stroke, thereby allowing the internal combustion process.

If you have any questions or concerns about your vehicle's timing belt or chain, then call or visit the service center here at Hank Graff Chevrolet in Davison, MI and let one of our qualified service technicians check under the hood for you.
